Quick ‘n Easy - Seedpacket Card

As you can see, I have been having loads of fun with the priceless set and my new fonts (see font tutorial)… I found a wonderful inspiration place, Katydid Creations by Kathryn Warner that had these really cute cards called Seedpackets…  She’s truly an artist…

Super Easy Card

Using a few templates I made with Microsoft Word and the new fonts I downloaded, I came up with a really cute card that you can
replicate over and over again…

The envelope is actually made out of vellum paper from Stampin’ Up! And the stamp set is priceless… I used pastels from Stampin’ Up! to color in the card. Inside the vellum envelope is another cardwith a cute ribbon pull to help the receiver of the card pull out the card from the seedpacket envelope.  I stamped the inside card similiar to the front.  The fabric flower is colored using pastels from Stampin’ Up! and is from the Stampin’ Up! pretties kit as well as the crystal brad!  To color in the butterfuly and flourish, I used versamark to stamp image onto cardstock and then took a sponge dauber and colored in the butterfly using two different colors…

This was really a quick and fun card to make…

I have a really nifty template for you to use.  I heavily suggest you try using the templates
on paper first before you cut up your precious Stampin’ Up! Cardstock…

Fonts… Fonts… and more Fonts!

I don’t know about you but I am a font junkie… I spend all night long looking for cute and elegant fonts to put on my computer.  But how do you find the “free ones” and when you do… what does download mean?  Where am I supposed to put these things and how do I get at them?  This tutorial will help…

Where are all the good free fonts?

Here’s a few places to purchase fonts:

How do I Download/ Install the fonts?

To download a font file means you are copying the file at the website down to your computer.  Your computer stores all its fonts at the c:\windows\fonts directory.  Here’s a tutorial I made up to help you download and install the fonts:

I’d rather just buy a Font CD, where can I get those?

How do I keep up with the latest font styles and news?

You will find the possibilities are endless - with a good inkjet/laser printer you can print awesome things on your Stampin’ Up! Cardstock to make some pretty spectacular creations.

Rubber Stamping Tip - Stamping Great Images

Ever get a new stamp set and no matter how hard you try to stamp a great image - it just doesn’t come out right?

Here’s a great tutorial to get your stamped images picture perfect:

Here’s some additional tips:

  • If you notice your ink is not adhearing to a few places on your stamp, take your stamp and rub it on a pair of jeans or stamp cleaning pad a bit.  This will remove any oils used in stamp manufacturing and create a more conducive surface for your ink to stick.
  • Ensure that your ink is not too watery… overinked ink pads cause blotchy stamped images.
  • Make sure you are using the right ink for the right surface:
    • Stampin’ Up!s Classic Inks are dye based inks that sit above the cardstock.  Use these for stamping images for cards.
    • Stampin’ Up!s Craft Inks are pigment based inks that are heavier inks that can be used to stamp all kinds of pourous surfaces such as fabric, cardstock and wood.  Use these for stamping images to be placed in scrapbooks.
    • Stazon’s Solvent Ink Pads are permanent ink that can be used to stamp all kinds of nonpourous surfaces such as metal, plastic and glass.

Have any more great tips for stamping great images?
